      Welcome to Assumption Catholic Church in West, TX!
    • Recovery News
      Holy Thursday Mass will begin at 6 PM, in order to accommodate those who wish to attend the 4-17 memorial service at 7:30 PM at the West Fair and Rodeo Grounds.

      St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church will be providing at no cost roll off dumpsters to homeowners that were affected by the explosion. This is to help aid in new home construction and remodels. Limit two roll offs per job site.

      St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church is also sponsoring volunteer cleanup crews for those homeowners that need help with new construction and remodeling that were affected by the explosion. Clean up crews will clean up unwanted materials around the job site. These crews will only be cleaning, no construction. We plan to be available on Saturday mornings for 8:00 am to noon. We ask that the homeowner or builder contact us 3 to 4 days prior to needing help and be available to show us what needs to be cleaned or picked up.

      We would like to help the homeowner from the start to the end of construction. We can also pick up small amounts of building materials at remodeled homes and haul to roll off dumpsters that will be placed in affected areas.

      To schedule a cleanup crew or roll off dumpster please contact any of the following below or email us directly at catholiccleanup@assumptionwest.org.

    • Prayer for West
      Behold me, my beloved Jesus,
      weighed down under the burden of my trials and sufferings,
      I cast myself at Your feet,
      that You may renew my strength and my courage,
      while I rest here in Your Presence.
      Permit me to lay down my cross in Your Sacred Heart,
      for only Your infinite goodness can sustain me;
      only Your love can help me bear my cross;
      only Your powerful hand can lighten its weight.
      O Divine King, Jesus,
      whose heart is so compassionate to the afflicted,
      I wish to live in You;
      suffer and die in You.
      During my life be to me my model and my support;
      At the hour of my death,
      be my hope and my refuge.
      Amen.

        Services at 3PM and 7 PM in Church. Stations of the Cross in Spanish at 5:30 PM "As out of Jesus' affliction came a new sense of God's love and a new basis for love between men, so out of our affliction we may grasp the splendor of God's love and how to love one another. Thus the consummation of the two commandments was on Golgotha; and the Cross is, at once, their image and their fulfillment. "
